Shapes #3

After our last assignment, we had to create a new composition using our shapes. But this time, we were free to change the size and number of our elements.

To begin with, I decided to use more of my two shapes, the parallelogram and the pentagon-like shape. I thought these two went nicely together, while the oval shape did not fit the overall composition, so I purposely did not use it in my design.

I tried to put my elements in rows, so that the white background could resemble some shapes. Some I rotated, so that the design would not look like a symmetric, pattern design, but to also make it a bit more interesting. I also tried to put my shapes in such a way, that you could envision some sloped lines in all my composition.

Overall, I am aware that the white "shapes" are not very defined, but I tried to make them feel connected to my real black shapes. Also the design does come across as a pattern in a way. So I feel like there is a lot to improve in my composition.
