After the abstraction of the leaves, we were told to cut three elements on black paper, resembling our leaf projections. With these new shapes we had to create a composition. The most important part of this assignment was to come up with relations between the shapes, but there were many other rules we had to follow and keep in mind as well. Of course, with each passing task, I got a clearer picture of what I had to do exactly, but at first I was not very sure. This can be seen in my design.

To begin with, the shapes I cut are not entirely bad, but I feel like they do not combine well with each other. So I tried to put them together to create an interesting design. Because we had to make sure the white background also became part of the composition, I thought of aligning some of my shapes and leaving some space between them. I was not aware at the time that doing that did not make the white background part of the composition. And so, I have to say, my design is not a well composed one.
