On Monday, December 10th, I attended a presentation session, where professors and architecture and engineering students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute presented their studies. There were three groups, each presenting for 15 minutes at most, and there was a 10 minute dialogue period in the end. We were invited to voice all our questions or reflections on the presentation.
The first group presented Open Dialogue, Open Minds: Starting a Conversation on Public Art. Their presentation was more of a conversation about what public art is and its value in society.
The second group presented The Xhubleta: Women's Perspective. It was such an interesting topic and presentation about one of the most common types of clothing worn by Albanian women.
The third group presented An exploration of Sense of Place and Value: Buildings in Tirana's Historic Center. This presentation was also very interesting, as it analysed famous building in Tirana that hold a lot of historical, social and cultural importance, like the National Theatre and the Sarajet Villa, and also how they being replaced with modern versions.
The Conference was very informative, but very enjoyable also. It was a comfortable event where we could share our thoughts with professionals, but also students. The presentations reflected the great work and dedication that all the students had put into them. I look forward to other conferences.
